This manuscript, usually referred to as the Red Book of the Exchequer, is a thirteenth-century compilation of the records of the English Exchequer. It contains a large number of legal texts, primarily from Henry I (r. 1100-1135) and William I (r. 1066-1087). The manuscript was compiled by a single royal clerk.
