This manuscript contains copies of nearly 450 letters, mostly from or to Gilbert Foliot, successively abbot of Gloucester, bishop of Hereford, and bishop of London. Among the documents included in this material is the legal text known as the Articles of the Inquest of Sheriffs. The manuscript dates from the end of the twelfth or the early thirteenth century.
