MS E. Musaeo 222

This manuscript is a composite with the first part containing Maurice de Sully’s Sermones de dominicis and the second a miscellaneous collection of short pieces on vices and virtues, the lives of saints and sermons. The text reproduced here is from the second part, inserted after an account of the translation of the relics of St Edmund at Bury in 1195 and followed immediately by a prayer. The manuscript dates from the thirteenth century and was once in the library of Darley Abbey.
