This manuscript contains a copy of the Instituta Cnuti, dating from the mid twelfth century, which was bound at a later date with herbals and a lapidaries. The two quires holding only the Instituta originally circulated as an independent booklet. The whole collection in Digby 13 might have come from Christ Church, Canterbury, though this origin may not hold for the quires holding the Instituta.
