MS Harley 1119

This manuscript, produced at the end of the twelfth century, contains only one text: the legal treatise usually referred to as ‘Glanvill’. Some of the initials of the text have been decorated with blue and red penwork. The medieval provenance of the manuscript is unknown but it was given to Robert Harley (1661-1724), 1st earl of Oxford, before his death and subsequently formed part of the Harley collection at the British Museum.
